An evening (followed by a Friday sermon) featuring Shaykh Dr. Haitham Al-Haddad at the Cork Islamic Cultural Centre in Ballyphehane, Cork. The event is titled “All Our Problems” and is focused on common 21st-century challenges—from relationships and family matters (love, marriage, divorce) to broader societal issues like rising living costs, politics, artificial intelligence, and social media. Format and Purpose A talk and live Q&A session (on Thursday evening) A Friday khutba (sermon) on the following day Dates and Times Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 8 pm (after the Isha prayer) Friday, February 21, 2025 for the first khutba at 12:45 pm Speaker Shaykh Dr. Haitham Al-Haddad is introduced as a jurist and judge for an Islamic council, with a background in Islamic sciences. He is known for exploring how Islamic jurisprudence can be applied in a Western context, re-examining traditional legal rulings (ifta) in light of modern sociopolitical realities. Venue Cork Islamic Cultural Centre 60 Tramore Rd, Ballyphehane, Cork, T12 XV27 Overall, the event aims to offer faith-based insights and practical guidance on the various personal and societal “problems” people face in contemporary life, inviting attendees to discuss and ask questions in an open forum.
